Train Ticket Reservation Now 120 days before!

Indian Railways has extended the advanced ticket reservation period from 90 days to 120 days. This means one can plan his journey and book the tickets 120 days (4 months) in advance.

This facility would take effect from March 10 2012.

As of now the period when the advance booking opens up is 3 months before the date of journey. The change to 120 days has evoked mixed response from the passengers. While some passengers who plan for well advanced journey sees this move as convenient, a lot others complaint that this 120 day window is too large to plan a journey. Earlier the time period for tatkal reservation has also been reduced by Indian Railway to 1 day.
