What is the Age Limit for Applying Civil Service Exam?
Age should be within 21-30, If the candidate belongs to general category.
Numbers of attempts possible for IAS Exam?
The number of attempts a candidate can give the exam is
- Four attempts for General category candidates.
- Four for OBC category candidates under the creamy layer.
- Seven attempts for OBC category candidates
- To SCs/STs, there is no limit on the number of attempts.
Other details :
- An attempt at a Preliminary Examination shall be deemed to be an attempt at the Examination (even if a candidate actually appears only in any one paper in the Preliminary Examination)
- Notwithstanding the disqualification/cancellation of candidature, the fact of appearance of the candidate at the examination will count as an attempt.
- Candidates just applied but not appeared at the exam is not an attempt.
